JenTekk launches the Kids SRC ‘09 Website

June 12th, 2009

JenTekk is pleased to announce the launch of the Kids Summer Reading Club (SRC) 2009 website today!

I am honored to have been invited yet again (my fourth year) to assist with the Kids SRC program.

Kids Summer Reading Club (SRC) 2009

The Kids SRC is designed to get children reading, with the use of a fun theme, posters, stickers, a reading record, bookmarks, completion medals, and novelty items. In addition each year they have a new designed website: Kids SRC 2009 which offers 7 quizzes (1 for each week of the program) word puzzles, and fun games.

Interestingly enough, some of the kids that participate in the Kids SRC are children of my own friends! That certainly makes it pretty exciting.

As I’d mentioned, this the the fourth year in assisting with the program. You may view the 3 previous website designs by JenTekk below…

Before & After: Fairlawn Labradors

May 27th, 2009

Donna from Fairlawn Labradors had many compliments on her first website with JenTekk, created sometime back in 2003.

Technology has come a long way since then – thank goodness! When I offered Donna an opportunity to convert her static website to a WordPress CMS website – explaining that she would be able to update it herself at her own leisure her eyes lit up.

Photos of Fairlawn’s dogs and puppies were important to Donna’s marketing strategy, so we added a WordPress plugin called NextGen Gallery – a simple, easy to use photo album/gallery generator.

We also took the opportunity to give Fairlawn’s Website a fresh new look, so first…

A Trio of websites – under construction

April 15th, 2009

Many clients have been asking me what I’ve been up to this spring, as they’ve not seen a lot of action in JenTekk’s portfolio.

Along with assisting Vancouver Community College Library with a new look for the home page content, and developing Sustainable Cities’ home page and Youth-Led pages, here are 3 projects I am currently working on.

JenTekk Launches Cafe Yogi

January 26th, 2009

JenTekk is pleased to announce the recent launch of yet another pet project: cafeyogi.com

Cafe Yogi

I first tried Bikram Hot Yoga on June 25th, 2008 at the Bikram Richmond Studio. I”ll never forget my first class – it was challenging! Between the heat, the postures, and my own demons – it was the longest 90 minutes in history for me.

2009 or bust!

January 8th, 2009

FreedomI use to make resolutions… each year the same resolution. Lose weight!

I don’t know about you, but that has got to be the most tiresome resolution on the face of the planet!

Note: Its not that I’m against losing weight… I’m just wearied by the way I’ve been trying to do this for what feels like forever!

Typically, my ‘new’ workout routine and diet will last about 2 weeks into the new year, and then blah blah blah… gone the way of every new years resolution before it – history!

Well, that is not going to be my resolution this year.

Perhaps I’ve matured some (cough yeah right) over the past year, or perhaps I’ve failed enough times to know that THAT resolution is a waste of time… OR maybe its because I’ve had some kind of priority shift(s).

I’ve not only reflected on the past year to see what worked and didn’t work, but over life in general.

My conclusion:

#1) People and relationships are more important to me than anything else
#2) Health is not about how much I weigh, but about how I view myself, and ultimately how I approach life
#3) Money is fun… but does not bring happiness (see #1)

In a nutshell, I guess you can say I’m going to start looking more people in the eye, and offer them a huge, honest and caring smile. I’m going to continue to love myself, and let that expression extend to others. I’m going make money to pay my bills and enjoy my sushi, but not expect it to bring me any security… that I receive from my faith in God.

2009 or bust… I’m ready to live like never before!

Have you made any resolutions, or had any priority changes that will affect the way you live in ‘09?

I would enjoy to hearing from you.
