2009 or bust!
I use to make resolutions… each year the same resolution. Lose weight!
I don’t know about you, but that has got to be the most tiresome resolution on the face of the planet!
Note: Its not that I’m against losing weight… I’m just wearied by the way I’ve been trying to do this for what feels like forever!
Typically, my ‘new’ workout routine and diet will last about 2 weeks into the new year, and then blah blah blah… gone the way of every new years resolution before it – history!
Well, that is not going to be my resolution this year.
Perhaps I’ve matured some (cough yeah right) over the past year, or perhaps I’ve failed enough times to know that THAT resolution is a waste of time… OR maybe its because I’ve had some kind of priority shift(s).
I’ve not only reflected on the past year to see what worked and didn’t work, but over life in general.
My conclusion:
#1) People and relationships are more important to me than anything else
#2) Health is not about how much I weigh, but about how I view myself, and ultimately how I approach life
#3) Money is fun… but does not bring happiness (see #1)
In a nutshell, I guess you can say I’m going to start looking more people in the eye, and offer them a huge, honest and caring smile. I’m going to continue to love myself, and let that expression extend to others. I’m going make money to pay my bills and enjoy my sushi, but not expect it to bring me any security… that I receive from my faith in God.
2009 or bust… I’m ready to live like never before!
Have you made any resolutions, or had any priority changes that will affect the way you live in ‘09?
I would enjoy to hearing from you.

Well darlin’, I don’t know when you do not offer a big smile to people! In my eyes your a rare gem, always have been! Smart, dedicated and driven.
I agree with you, resolutions only lead to disappointment. Not in others but yourself and that’s the worst type there is! I do have priorities though which constantly change because of postponements in my surgery.
1. First and foremost is my struggle to regain my health and I’m 38 lbs closer to that 100 lb goal weight loss goal before surgery. I’m already walking faster, climbing stairs easier and re-gaining my stamina… doo doo be doo doo… sta-namina doo, do be doo.
2. Second priority is my husband, friends and family. I hate putting them behind my first priority but if I’m to be around for a long time I have no choice!
3. I have so many ideas it’s hard to make them a reality on my own. So a business partner is my career priority. I need a technical person to balance my creative side. I’m so okay with that!
That’s about it! We still have to get together for coffee soon. Maybe a mini Richmond meet-up?

Hey, thanks Liesa!
You know, you’ve brought up a really cool point… that is: putting your health in front of hubby, friends and family. This reminds me of the instructions flight attendants give… in the event of trouble, parents are instructed to put the oxygen mask on themselves first, and then their children. Makes total sense… take care of yourself, so you can be a greater help to others… LUV it!!!
I’m also VERY stoked to hear you are becoming stronger, regaining your energy and closer to your surgery weight… I have NO doubt that you are going to succeed in this and be whistling dixie before long!! You’ve always been a sweet, kind hearted yet strong woman… go for it.
We definitely need to do coffee soon, would luv to hear more about #3, so I can keep my ears/eyes open for you. (((hugs)))

I agree with Liesa, you always offer everyone a beautiful smile, and the last time I saw you, I thought you looked great – very trimmed and toned up. So no worries for you in that regard.
No resolutions for me either, but lots of plans. I agree, money doesn’t bring happiness, but gosh, we do depend on that ‘paper’. I really want to stick to freelancing, but that means I’ve got to make more money, at least as much money should be coming in as going out.
So most my plans revolve around how to bring more income and take care of my family.
I want to be able to do so many things: sign up my growing daughter to different activities, travel, visit my family in Georgia, and all that unfortunately, involve money.
Oh, and also I’m planning on finally getting my driving license this year. Then if I make enough income I could use Jen’s husband’s help to get a new car
And girls, how about getting together one day for a coffee but somewhere Downtown Vancouver? Until I start driving, Richmond is so far for me to get to from North Vancouver.

Thanks Vivien! (((hugs)))
I think I have unnecessarily concerned myself with the bathroom scale, over more important issues – like health.
Yes, we certainly do need the $’s to not only stay alive, but to also turn goals, plans and wishes to reality. I hope that some fun yet lucrative projects land in your lap quickly. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know!
Good for you in getting your driver’s license this year, that will help with the job hunting. Ger will be more than happy to assist you with finding the right vehicle for you!
You know… I think a girls only “Tazzette” networking meeting is in order. I’m going to post this idea in the Tazzu forum and see if any other gals are interested — Liesa, you can ride with me if we have it in Vancouver!!
Happy New Year Vivien!

Hey, we can carpool for sure. I’d love to meet you Vivien. As long as we go to a comfy coffee shop with sturdy chairs I’m a happy woman! LOL.
Let make tentative plans for the end of the month or early Feb.
What say the ladies?
