A Trio of websites – under construction

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Many clients have been asking me what I’ve been up to this spring, as they’ve not seen a lot of action in JenTekk’s portfolio.

Along with assisting Vancouver Community College Library with a new look for the home page content, and developing Sustainable Cities’ home page and Youth-Led pages, here are 3 projects I am currently working on.

Kids Summer Reading Club 2009

JenTekk Launches Cafe Yogi

Monday, January 26th, 2009

JenTekk is pleased to announce the recent launch of yet another pet project: cafeyogi.com

Cafe Yogi

I first tried Bikram Hot Yoga on June 25th, 2008 at the Bikram Richmond Studio. I”ll never forget my first class – it was challenging! Between the heat, the postures, and my own demons – it was the longest 90 minutes in history for me.

Before & After: Design Tech Hair Studio

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Before…

Design Tech Hair Studio is a very successful Hair Salon in Richmond. Its original design (built by JenTekk in 2003) reflected the salon’s brand back then.

Built for 800 x 600 screen resolution, static pages, and in basic HTML (no CSS) it was time to upgrade in a big way and move Design Tech Hair Studio into a Content Management System. We chose WordPress, as the customer’s needs were basic.

After…

Solution: a sexy and clean WordPress (customized template) CMS website – reflecting the salon’s new brand, colors and attitude.

All the best Grace and Yumi. It was a pleasure to assist you with your website make-over!

Sterling Fleet Outfitters – fitted with a website

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Its Friday afternoon and I’m just chomping at the bit to announce the official launch of the Sterling Fleet Outfitters website.

Sterling Fleet Outfitters

Joomla! 1.5 CMS

Sterling needed to be able to update the website themselves, and to be able to upload documents (pdf files) in order to showcase the products they offered. They also wanted to be able to post News items that would automatically archive. In addition, they wished to have an online form so their clients could contact them via email without disclosing their address online to would-be spammers… smart.

I couldn’t think of a better solution than Joomla! 1.5 CMS. Joomla provides all the usability features Sterling required and much more! They agreed on the product, and the rest is, as they say – history!

We can see the Joomla themed template design is simple & clean. It is very reflective if their brand (blue, white, grey) with colorful content being the focal point of the page. It is very easy to navigate – as their clients range from the not-so-internet savvy to very savvy.

Thanks to my business associate and friend Rastin Mehr at rmdStudio.com for setting up Joomla! 1.5 CMS on Sterling’s server/hosting account.

Congratulations Sterling on your new internet presence! I’ll see you next week for Joomla training! It was truly a delight to work with you – I wish you much success in all your endeavors! :)
